Danceity

Classes from many schools in one weekly schedule.

A product before launch. The numbers are the database state on 13 September 2026.

Danceity class catalogue with day, style and level filters and the number of classes in the week
The key screen

Day, style, level: 42 classes from four schools in one week, without opening each school’s profile in turn.

The situation

The salsa, bachata, kizomba and zouk scene lives in Facebook groups. Socials, workshops and classes have to be picked out of dozens of posts, and schools and instructors only reach people who already know them. Danceity gathers it all in one place.

What the website has to do

Come for something and leave with it done: find an event for the weekend, choose classes at your level, build a week and go to the school’s sign-up.

What I built

  • An app designed phone-first: bottom navigation, start, events, classes, schools, account.
  • Events as a list, a map and a calendar with city, radius, style, type and date filters.
  • A weekly class catalogue and “My schedule”: classes from several schools in one week, with clash detection and calendar export.
  • School and instructor profiles with affiliations, accounts via Google or email.
  • Event import from organisers’ websites with three-gate moderation: sure ones publish themselves, doubtful ones are judged by a model, the rest waits for a human.

Three decisions

01

The database grows daily without retyping

Import from organisers’ websites with three-gate moderation: sure events publish themselves, doubtful ones are judged by a model, the rest waits for a human.

02

Schools own the sign-up

The app sends people to the organiser’s sign-up instead of building its own booking system at launch.

03

Three roles, three sets of tasks

Dancers search and build their week, instructors and schools show their offer. It is a tool to get something done, not a board to scroll.

Brenset’s role and the next stage

Brenset is responsible for the design, code and deployment: from the concept, through the database and event import, to the app. The next stage is panels for schools and instructors to manage their profiles and listings.
